With heavy hearts we announce the passing of a dear husband, father and Zaidy, Ernie (Usher) Rashkovan, on Friday, December 22, 2023. Ernie was the epitome of a gentleman in all the roles he played in his long and accomplished life. A dedicated and caring son to his parents, Pearl z’l and Louis z’l, an attentive youngest sibling to Ben z’l and Bella z’l, and brother-in-law to Yetta and the late Perry Lande z’l, and Marsha and the late Nathan Gans z’l. The most loving, doting and adoring husband and best friend for sixty-four years of Freda, the absolute love of his life, and the very best dad ever of Barry and Tracey, Liane and Michael and David and Natalie. While his family was first in his heart, there is no doubt that his biggest pride and achievement was his “Rashkovan Dynasty”: His grandchildren and great-grandchildren Daniel, Robyn, Aiden, Ethan and Chloe, Adam and Tara, Ronni and Jason, AJ and Irene, Jake and Maegan, Gabrielle and Jason, Brennan and Rebecca, Luke, Jillian, who absolutely adored their warm and attentive Zaidy Ernie. He had a talent for making each of us feel like we were his favourite. Ernie was a proud graduate of Dalhousie and McGill universities and operated a successful practice in Montreal as a distinguished Notary. Loving uncle to many beloved nieces, nephews and their children, and cherished member of a close and devoted circle of friends. Special thank you to Dr. Joseph Raffoul and Dr. Michael Bouhadana, to Robert, his caring trainer, and to his loving caregivers of many years: Linda, Maritane, Elizabeth, Ralston, Geralda, Ronnie and Marilena. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, December 24 at 3:00 p.m. Burial at the Nusach Hoari Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane.
