In Loving Memory of Eva Von Linkert
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Eva Von Linkert on Sunday January 22 at 1155 pm at the Georgian Bay Hospital in Midland. Eva was in her 94th year and was predeceased by her husband Jack, her youngest son Danny, her son in law Kevin and her grandson Terry. Her children Terry (Bonnie), Judy and Paulette are feeling the great loss of their mother. Eva’s grandchildren Tammy (Justin), John (Christian), Candice and Suzanne ( Richard) and great grandchildren Christopher, Cameron, Colby, Richard, Zachary, Lincoln and Broderick will forever miss the void she filled. Missed dearly by nieces, nephews, and dear friends. A special thank you to her niece Kelly and husband Kevin, her close friends and neighbours and the many PSW workers. Without them, her wish to be home as long as possible would not have happened.
Eva was born in Hamilton on July 10 1929 and was raised there along with her 3 older sisters. It was here that she met her husband Jack Linkert and on June 14, 1947 the two tied the knot. That love was never broken and Eva never found another to love as much as she loved Jack when he passed. Her marriage was like her life, strong, ever- lasting, filled with joy, love and even heartbreak.
Eva and Jack eventually moved to the small quaint town of Wilberforce, raising their four children. They ran Farquhar Lake Lodge for many years and established many long lasting friendships. Eva and Jack also opened a small restaurant/gift shop called Country Goodies where you could find the most beautiful ceramic items they made in their home, porcelain dolls and even the famous Linkert Bakery sweets…
Eva’s love for making her porcelain dolls showed as these dolls won many awards over the years…Her talent was exquisite and these dolls and ceramics were displayed in many homes in the area.
There will be a Celebration of Life in the Summer, her favorite season where she could be in her gardens tending to her flowers.
Gran your strength in life was admirable to everyone who crossed your path. Your will to push on, persevering every obstacle in your way was nothing short of a miracle and a gift your family is thankful you had. We were so very fortunate to be able to share so many years with you, learning from you and that is a gift we will cherish with all our heart. The day you left us was the day you were able to start a new life. One free of pain and where you once more are able to walk heavens garden with your true love. You have so much to share with grandpa and he will be looking at you and listening intently, love radiating from his eyes and heart.
We all know you love us but never forget….Not as much as we love you ❤
