Obituary
Hoday, Isabel Cecilia (nee Dawkins)
November 13, 1924 – November 24, 2023
Isabel passed away peacefully in her 100th year at Post Inn Village on November 24th. Wife of Peter (predeceased 2013); she is survived by her 2 daughters, Marguerite (Ken) Flynn and Nancy O’Neill. Grandma Hoday will always be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren; Kristine (Mike), Joanne (Tyler), Diane (Ryan), Liam (Genevieve), Monica (David), Keith (Josie) and Natalya. GG adored her great grandchildren; Maya, Drake, Weston, Walker, Eleanor and Charlie.
Isabel was born and raised in Toronto. After her marriage in 1944 she devoted her life to her family and her home. She was an amazing cook, baker, seamstress, knitter/crocheter and hostess. Isabel and Peter spent many memorable years at their cottage on Lake Catchacoma where she entertained family and numerous friends.
In retirement, Isabel and Peter spent their winters in Florida and travelled. Their most memorable trip was driving across Canada and up the west coast to Alaska.
The family wishes to thank the amazing staff at Post Inn Village for the care and compassion shown to our mom in her four years in long term care.
We will miss you mom but we are comforted to know that you have been reunited with your mom and dad, Marguerite and Victor Dawkins and your beloved husband Peter. A long life well lived.
As per her request cremation has taken place and there will be a private family interment in the Spring of 2024.
Those wishing to make a donation in honor of Isabel can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
