Obituary
Passed peacefully away on November 20, 2023 Jean-Claude Lucien Emile Vaillant, at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Care Center, Grand Falls-Windsor. He was 80 years of age.
Jean-Claude is survived by his wife Ruby; Son Wayne (Ontario), daughters Claudine (Shannon) and Serina; grandchildren Jessica Bursey (Ontario), Robert Hogan (Melissa), Shawnda Thompson (Brendan), Melissa Hogan (Troy) and Shannon Thompson (Trina); great grandchildren Nicholas, Nolan, Joseph (Ontario), Emily and Eric Hogan-Mills, Hanna Hogan and Ariella Thompson; nephews Fabien(Godson) and Gregory, nieces Armelle and Aurelie; sister Brigitte Fourrier(Six-Fours-les-Plages, France and their families. Special long time friends from Sr. Pierre et Miquelon. Extended family as well as special friends who became family.
Born in France grew up in Bandol. Jean-Claude had a medical service with the French Navy that turned into service on a French Transatlantic Cable Ship. Jean-Claude settled in St. Johns to raise his family in 1968. He had a long career as an Automotive Mechanic and Front End Specialist. Jean-Claude, in his retirement settled in Botwood, where he happily spent time with Ruby fixing up their home and gardening.
They say there is a reason. They say time will heal; neither time nor reason will change the way we feel. Gone are the days we used to share, but in our hearts you will always be there. The gates of memories will never close. We will miss you more than anybody knows.
