Betty passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, November 10, 2023, at the age of 99 years. A much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. Throughout her life she provided kind and gentle guidance to her family and friends. She is survived by her children, David (Bev) of Burnaby, Susan Exner (David) of Regina Bach, Karen (Jim Bennett) of Saskatoon, Brian (Ungela) of Calgary, and Nancy Kuntz (Blake) of Regina; grandchildren, Maureen (Rod), Sean (Michelle), Kimerly (Adam), Michael (Kristina), Dane (Maria), Katie (Doug), Kevin (Jayne), Adelaide, Josef, Alex (Josh), Kailey (Colin), and Reid; as well as 19 great-grandchildren and one nephew. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband Roland; parents Colin and Amy Prockter; and siblings, Joyce Jonassen (Joe), Dorothy Prockter and Harry Prockter.
Betty married the love of her life Roland McGuigan on November 11, 1944, and settled in Swift Current before their move to Regina, where they raised their family. After the children grew up and left home, they moved to Regina Beach, where they spent many wonderful years and made friends. In 2012, they moved to Wintergreen Estates. Betty spent her remaining years with the staff and friends who enriched her life.
Her family was with her during her last days at Pasqua Hospital, where she was treated with care, kindness and compassion by the staff in Palliative Care. At Betty’s request there will be no funeral service, her life will be celebrated by immediate family.
