Obituary
WILLIAMS, Clayton Nathaniel – 91, Lockeport, Shelburne County passed away in South Shore Regional Hospital with his family by his side on Friday, November 3, 2023. Born in Lydgate on April 21, 1932 to Roy and Edna (Enslow) Williams. Clayton was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years Jessie (Stewart), daughters; Debra, Heidi (Errol), son, Michael (Susan), Daughter in law, Sandra, Adopted Daughter, Linda(Bob) Balsillie, Grandchildren; Dawn, Clayton (Skipper), Matthew, Steven, Holly, Vanessa, and Colton Great- Grandchildren; Brittany, Sheena, Allie, Bailey, MaKayla, Joel and Wyatt; Great-Great Grandchildren; Grayson, Maddison and Wyatt and many nieces and nephews.
Clayton was the last remaining sibling of his family, being predeceased by: St. Clair; Denver; Daphne; Goldie; and Edna. He was also predeceased by his eldest son Clayton (Skipper).
Clayton and Jessie made their home in Nova Scotia when they married in 1953, where their oldest son Clayton Jr (Skip) was born in Liverpool. Clayton and Jessie moved to Edmonton, Alberta for a few years where he worked for Imperial Oil, at that time Debra and Mike were born to add to the growing family. If you knew Clayton you would know the sea was in his blood, which drew him back to Lockeport, Nova Scotia to be part of the Town of Lockeport Town Police, then to the fishery and where their little girl Heidi was born.
Clayton held many careers over his 91 years as RCAF, RCMP Marine Division, Refinery worker, Town Police and last the fishery which was where his passion was. Clayton and his Brother-In- Law Sheldon Stuart went to Haiti in 70’s to teach the local residents the fishing trade.
Special Thanks goes to VON, and Homecare, that always made him feel special and took those few extra minutes to help with a few pieces of the prized puzzle that was on the go. Also, to his guardian angel Kevin Chetwynd who always put his mind at ease whether he had on the EHS uniform or as Lockeport First Responder taking the time always to answer the call.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Lockeport. A Visitation will be held November 7 from 1:00 -2:00 pm with the Funeral following at 2:00pm, both from the Lockeport Pentecostal Church, Hall Street, Lockeport.
