Obituary
Passed away peacefully at Brightshores Health System – Owen Sound on Friday, November 3, 2023. Born in Arran Township on January 6, 1935, Betty May Welsh (nee Trask) of Owen Sound, was in her 89th year.
Beloved wife of the late Elmer Welsh. Loving mother of Debra Welsh of Owen Sound and Brian Welsh (Rhonda) of Owen Sound. Cherished grandma of Brady (Karina) and Brenden (Madeline). Dear sister-in-law of Freida Trask. Cherished aunt of Joanne Pepe (Steve), Mary Trelford (Roy), Paul Trask (Lynn), Jeff Trask (Chris) and Betty Welsh.
Predeceased by her parents, Earl and Hazel Trask, and by her brother Bill Trask.
Our heartful thank you to the staff on 6th floor, including Dr. Doelman, Dr. Besik, Dr. McArthur, Dr. Barfoot, Dr. Chapman and James Hall for keeping Mom comfortable. Also a huge thank you to the staff and team at Wiarton Hospital for the amazing care and kindness our mom received during her stay. Dr. Diodati, we can’t thank you enough.
Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Monday, November 6, 2023, from 5-8 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
