Evelyn Mary Glasgow
July 17, 1949 – November 1, 2023
It is with profound sadness, that we the family of the late Evelyn Mary Glasgow announce her passing at the Miller Centre in St. John’s, NL on November 1, 2023, in her seventy fourth year.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: her three children: Robert (Tracey) Torbay, NL. Kenneth (Cheryl) in Wyoming ON, Krista (Dennis) Conception Bay South, NL .Her 4 beloved grandsons: Gavin and Colby Glasgow, Kalan Goodwin-Glasgow, and Ryan Vokey. Her siblings: Shirley (Jim) Burroughs in Mount Pearl; Patsy (Bernie) Young in Ontario; Rita (Ross) Crawley of British Columbia; Tom (Lorraine) Targett of Stephenville, Jack (Joanne) Targett of Port au Port East; Judy (Dave) Sakal of Alberta; Brother in-law John (Marie)Walsh of Labrador. Brother-in-law Charles (Marjorie) Glasgow of Aguathuna, NL; Her special nephew Scott (Marie) Targett of Ontario who was thought of as her third son; and special niece Vanessa Glasgow of Agusthuna along with a large circle of nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was predeceased by her wonderful and loving husband Conrad Burton Glasgow, her parents Alfred and Josephine Hogan Targett; her sister Marie Walsh; her Father-in-law Matthew Burton Glasgow and mother -in-law Laura Hynes Glasgow.
At her request cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life/Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Port au Port West on Saturday, July 13th, 2024 at 11 am. Interment to follow at the R. C. Cemetery in Port au Port East. Reception for all from 1-3 and 7-11 at Our of Lady Mercy Complex in Port au Port West.
Our Family would like to give special thanks to her homecare workers Charlene Eason and Kim O’Brien both of Conception Bay South who provided outstanding care and comfort during her illness.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to Janice Brown of Eastern Health, Dr. Cheryl Hurley and the Doctors, Nursing staff and volunteers of the Miller Centre for their exceptional care during her stay.
