Obituary
Passed away peacefully at Brightshores Health System – Owen Sound on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. Born in Lindsay Township on March 16, 1924, Annie Hermine Angel (nee Hellyer) of Owen Sound, was in her 100th year.
Beloved wife of the late Keith Angel. Loving mother of Roberta “Birdie” Vokes (Bill), Cathleen Thorne, Lorna Waite (Roy), George Angel (Alanna) and Bev Angel (Roxy). Cherished grandma of Robert (Kathy), Chris (Angie), Rod (Paula), Ashley (Trevor), Teresa, Penny (Scott), Alissa (Tim), Natasha (Jarrell), Michael (Diana), Danielle (Steve), and Becki (Jordan). Proud great grandma of Taylor (Brandon), Erica (Dustin), Zack, Gracie, Claire, Lucy, Adam, Kallista, Logan, William, Jack, Cole, Drew, Hugo, Georgia, Keith and Beau. Annie will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by her parents, Nelson and Ethel Hellyer, son in law Bruce Thorne and by her siblings Amos Hellyer, Wes Hellyer, Pearl Duki, Lena Speirs, Harold Hellyer, George Hellyer and Lorne Hellyer.
A funeral service to celebrate Annie’s life will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed. Interment will take place in Hillcrest Cemetery on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.
