It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Edith Mary Tarrant of Lawn announces her sudden passing. Edith passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on Tuesday, October 31st, 2023, at the age of 88.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her husband, James Tarrant of 69 years; sons, Isaac Tarrant (Bonnie) of Petawawa, ON, Kevin Tarrant (Susan) of Shediac, NB, Guy Tarrant (Judy) of Lawn, Aubrey Tarrant of Burin and James Tarrant (Rowena) of Cambridge, ON; daughters, Theresa Collins (Gary) of St. John’s, Madeline Edwards (Mark) of Lawn, Grace Lockyer (Carl Beck) of Lawn, Martha Tarrant (Rod Keough) of St. Phillips, Cecilia Martin (Curtis) of Marystown, Jane Berggren (Leslie) of Draton Valley, AB and Edith Brake (Duane) of Lawn; 41 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, David Flannigan of Lawn; brothers, Robert Lambe (Sharon) of Lawn, Paul Lambe of BC, Harve Lambe of Lord’s Cove and Jerome Lambe (Thelma) of Lord’s Cove; sisters, Mary Hodge (William Mavin) of Lawn, Anne Lockyer of St. John’s and Esther Lambe of St. John’s; sister-in-law, Josephine Lambe of Lawn; plus a large circle of family and friends.
Edith was predeceased by her parents, Isaac & Annie Lambe; daughters, Leanna Flannigan and Tanya Tarrant; brothers, Cecil Lambe (Mary), George Lambe, Patrick Lambe (Mary), Isaac (Sonny) Lambe, and baby boy Jerome; sisters, Louise Hillier (Isaac) and baby girl Lambe; and brother-in-law, Arnold Hodge.
The Tarrant Family will be accepting visitors at Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Lawn on
Thursday, November 2
5pm to 9pm
Friday, November 3
10am to 9pm
Funeral Mass will take place at Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Lawn on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 at 3:00 pm.
In Edith’s memory, in-lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Tarrant Family to be distributed to local charities of their choice.
