L. William Robar
It is with
profound sorrow that we share the news of the departure of
L. William Robar from our world. A cherished resident of
Hallandale Beach, Florida, and formerly from Cookville, NS, he bid his
final adieu on October 23, 2023, in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. His
birthplace was Bridgewater, where he was the proud son of the late
Clyde & Christine (Larsen) Robar, and his devoted stepmother
Esther (Veinot) Robar.
Known
affectionately as Billy or Robar, he had an illustrious career as a
hair stylist in Florida, owning numerous salons. His skill and
dedication earned him the title of «stylist to the stars».
Among his illustrious clientele were Barbara Walters, Sylvester
Stallone, Don Johnson, President Bill Clinton, Frank Sinatra, and the
cast of the Golden Girls, to name a few. His successful line of hair
care products, branded as «Robar of Ocean Drive», was a
testament to his passion and talent. His life was indeed filled with
blessings and accomplishments that were a source of immense pride to
us all.
Robar leaves behind his
devoted husband Jay, residing in Hallandale Beach, his brother David
(Nancy) Robar of Inglewood, NS, and his sisters Sandy Conrad of
Wileville, NS and Heather Wagner-Brine (Colin Brine) of Bridgewater,
NS. He also leaves his sister-in-law, Lorraine Robar of Wasaga Beach,
Ont., his beloved fur companion, Ming Toy, along with many loving
nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Regrettably, his journey to eternity was
preceded by the loss of his brothers Lawrence, George, Charles, Merle,
Sheldon, his sister-in-law Norma Robar, brother-in-law Lloyd
«Snookie» Wagner, and nephew Gary Robar.
A graveside service will be
conducted at the Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater, at a future date to
be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to make
memorial donations to the Bridgewater Food Bank, in honor of Robar’s
