Jean Mackenzie
Jean MacDonald Mackenzie passed away peacefully at Fox Run Retirement Residence in Gananoque on October 25, 2023 in her 101st year. Predeceased by her husband Charles Kossuth (C.K.), her parents James and Mary McGinty and siblings, John McGinty and Helen Rennie. She is survived by her daughter Merrily Gerrard (Keith) of Victoria BC, a granddaughter Shelley Mackenzie and a great grandson Sean Kahler of Idaho USA.
She will be missed by niece Riki Running, nephew Jim McGinty (Linda), great-niece Tammy, great nephew Bill (Sherry), great-niece Tina (Dave) and friend Linda Gillies.
Fondly remembered by her dear friend June Cuthbert and Giselle and Ron MacNeil, Constance Cuthbert, Darlene and Lou Stabile and their families.
Jean loved her home and was an avid reader with a passion for Egyptology. She was a Distinguished Member of The International Society of Poets, Owings Mills, Maryland USA with three of her poems in book form.
Jean wanted to extend her love and gratitude to Heather, Jared and the many loving staff of Fox Run who created a wonderful, caring and supportive new home for her by the river when she transitioned there from her family home.
A private graveside service will be held at the request of the deceased.
