With heavy hearts we announce the passing of John Manuel Azevedo of Wallaceburg. He passed away peacefully at Riverview Gardens in Chatham on Monday, January 16, 2023 at the age of 61. John is the son of John Sr. and the late Filomena (Pereira) Azevedo and father of Cyril Peters (Alie) and grandfather of Sloan and Ezra. Dear brother of Maria Foster (Paul), Cidalia Wilson (Terry), George Azevedo (Bonnie), Gorette Sitzes (Jeff), Marline Naud (Romano) and the late Albert, Gorete, Jose and Fernando.
John was loved by his nieces and nephews Fernando, Ashley, Jeff, Stephanie, Danny, Dillon, Chase, Emma, Hannah, Ben, Abby and many great nieces & nephews. John had worked at Libbey Glass and was the owner of John’s Tree Trimming Service. He loved being outdoors, boating, fishing, horseback riding, and attending bullfights in his home country of Portugal. Cremation took place followed by a private family service at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home (409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg). Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery at a later date.
