Obituary
Passed peacefully away at Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion in Carbonear, with his loving family by his side, Norman Benjamin Rowe, in his 96th year, of Chance Cove, Trinity Bay.
Predeceased by father, Levi Rowe and mother, Flossie (nee Brace); wives Doris (nee Colbourne) and Lillian (nee Edison); brother Freeman; sisters Carrie, Rowena, Mary, Laura, and Ruby; and brothers-in-law, Leonard, Lloyd and Hughie.
Leaving to mourn, with precious memories are his children, Lindsay (Lynette), Norma (Dave), Hilles (Rosalyn), and Brian (Helen); grandchildren Scott, Cheryl, Amanda, Stephanie, Shannon, Nancy, Keith, Shawn, and Cody; 11 great grandchildren; sisters Rose (Garrett), Vera (Jim), Phoebe (Ted), and Marjorie; brothers, Levi (Liz), Leonard (Nina); plus a large number of nieces, nephews, and friends.
In his early years, Dad worked in the lumber woods until he went fishing with his brother, Levi. Bob Warren joined the team a few years later and together they became very successful fishermen! Norman was an excellent father, grandfather, brother, uncle, family man and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Until we meet again, may he rest in that fair and happy land with our loved ones who have gone before!
The family say a special, “thank you” to the very caring and dedicated staff on the 4th floor south, at the Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion.
A visitation will be held at The Salvation Army, Chance Cove, on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
A service to celebrate Norman’s life will be held from The Salvation Army, Chance Cove, on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Chance Cove.
Donations in Norman’s memory may be made to The Salvation Army, Chance Cove Corps.
