Obituary
Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, Hazel Reid (nee Crocker) of Heart’s Delight, aged 76 years.
Predeceased by husband Bernard Reid; mother and father, Ina and Joe Crocker; mother-in-law Doris Meyer (nee Reid); father-in-law Ishmael Oliver; step-father-in-law Len Meyer; sister and brother-in-law Joan and Lloyd Traverse; and daughter-in-law Christina Reid.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children, Jeff, Chris, Susan (Rick) and Kimberley; the pride and joy of her life her 2 grandsons Andrew and Joshua; brother James (Barb) Crocker; nieces Elaine Traverse and Erin Pulak; nephews Brian Traverse and Michael Crocker; as well as great-nieces and great-nephews, and a large circle of friends.
Hazel was a loyal member of the Heart’s Delight-Islington Firettes serving as treasurer for almost 29 years and was a member of the A.C.W. Hazel was a woman of strong faith and loved her daily bible readings. She also loved a game of cards, hallmark movies, game shows, and the Young and the Restless.
The family would like to thank her home care worker, Christa Pretty. The public health nurses from the Heart’s Delight Clinic, the staff of the Heart’s Delight-Islington Ambulance Service Inc, the nurses from the Eastern Health Home Dialysis Program, and the doctors and nurses of 4 South A, Health Sciences for their care and professionalism.
A visitation will be held from the Parish of The Epiphany, Heart’s Delight, on Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held from the Parish of The Epiphany, Heart’s Delight, on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at St. Matthew’s Anglican Cemetery, Heart’s Delight.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in Hazel’s memory can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
