Ellen “Jean” Maude
Surrounded by the love of her family, Ellen “Jean” Maude (nee Fielding) passed away peacefully on Sunday October 15, 2023, in her 99th year at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Born and raised in Toronto, living in Cannington and Peterborough, Jean was predeceased by her loving husband Albert Edward Maude. Mother of Karen & John Evans, Gregory & Janice Maude, Douglas & Wendy Maude and Jeffrey & Beth Maude. Loving Grandmother to Shawn, Scott, Derek, Daryl, Colin, Darci, Kyla, Justin and Samantha. Jean will be remembered and fondly loved by her 14 great grandchildren. Jean was an active volunteer at Marycrest at Inglewood, a seniors residence where she lived for the last 25 years. Her organizational skills came easy to her after spending many years operating the Village Restaurant in Cannington. She was an avid fan of her beloved Toronto Maple Leafs, and had hoped to see them win the cup! During her last few months, Jean resided on Unit C3 at the hospital. The family would like to thank all the nurses, nurse practitioners and doctors for their excellent care and compassion. Jean will be laid to rest at the Elm Vale Cemetery in Cannington alongside her husband. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date. If interested, a donation to the Peterborough Victoria Order of Nurses (VON) or Community Care Peterborough would be appreciated.
