It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
James Edward Titus, 65, of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. James passed away
peacefully at South Shore Regional Hospital on October 7th, 2023, due
to health complications. He was born on January 10, 1958, in Digby,
the son of the late John and Marion (Tidd) Titus.
James often spoke of fond memories when fishing with his father
and enjoyed telling the many stories of how he and his brothers played
pranks on his mother.
Although he could not use
it much, James was proud of his welding ticket which he worked so hard
to achieve and showed it to everyone he
could.
James moved away from Digby
earlier in his life and lived in various parts of the province. He
moved to Bridgewater around 2005 and became a member of the Support
Services Group in 2008. He enriched the lives of many with funny
stories from his past, his laughter, and music. He loved to watch
movies, listen to old rock and country music, and color pictures to
give to his friends. James would often perform at The Ark variety
shows, singing his favorite country tunes. He enjoyed talking about
Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard of ZZ Top and was fortunate enough to
see ZZ Top in concert two years ago. He was a creator of beautiful
felted designs of the sea, fishing boats and lighthouses. James
volunteered at the Community Cafe at St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church for several years, it was important to him to give back to his
community.
To James the people he loved
were the most important to him. He is survived by his girlfriend
Darlene Levy, Bridgewater, brothers Donald (Christine) Tidd, Allan
(Linda)Titus and sister Marilyn (Roger) Amero all of Digby and many
special nieces and nephews.
In addition
to his family, he will be dearly missed by all of Support Services
Group, especially his staff: Kari, Bridget, Nancy, Brandon, Nita, and
Annette who cared for and loved him like family. The staff at The Ark,
who supported him to create beautiful art and his dream of singing.
His friends at Fernwood House, who always welcomed him into their
home.
A celebration of life
will be held on October 20, 2023, at 2:00pm, St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church Hall, 25 Phoenix St. Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers
donations can be made to Support Services Group, The Ark, or a charity
