Obituary
Blades, Sharon Olive – Age 63, of Clark’s Harbour passed away unexpectedly on October 10, 2023. Born in Sandy Point, NS and raised in Barrington Passage, she was the youngest Child of the late Charlie and Helen (McLellan) Smith. Sharon was a kind and caring friend, neighbour, community volunteer, library champion and animal lover with a great sense of humor. She fought a brave fight with MS for over 40 years. Sharon loved her family unconditionally and was very proud of them. Her husband, daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren were her world. Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Gary; two daughters, Christine (Blain) Potvin, Hammonds Plains and Beth (Patrick) Mayer, Shearwater; four grandchildren, Aline and Grant Potvin, Leah and Sarah Mayer. She is also survived by brothers, Bruce (Marivi) Smith, Dartmouth, NS, Wayne (Carolyn) Smith, Doctor’s Cove, NS and a sister, Laurel Nickerson, NS/Nunavut; many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to VON for their support. And a special thank you to Kim Ross and Jeanette Smith whose love and support will never be forgotten. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 13th from 7-9 pm and Saturday, October 14th from 7-9 pm at the H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 15th at 2:00 pm from the H.M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington. Family flowers only.
