It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather on October 7, 2023. Ray passed peacefully after a brief illness shortly before his 94th birthday on November 13. Beloved husband of the late Louise (2019) for over 60 years; loving father of Alan (Susan), Rick (Darcy), and Dorothy Powers (Ken); cherished grandpa of Hollie Adams (Brian Jansen), Eric Adams, and Nicole Powers (Ian Blair); and dear great-grandpa of Liam Blair. Ray will also be sadly missed by all of his nieces and nephews. Ray was a devoted family man who always put his wife, children, and grandchildren above all other aspects of his life. Ray could have been the inspiration for the show “Everybody Loves Raymond” because it was true about Ray. Everyone who had the good fortune to meet Ray loved him. A special thank-you to all the staff of Hospice Windsor for their wonderful care over the last 3 days, especially nurses Page, Mikayla, Stef, and Sara, and Dr. Bergeron. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 3-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. at Families First South Windsor, 3260 Dougall Ave., 519-969-5841. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2023 in the Families First Chapel. Interment will take place at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Donations to the Hospice of Windsor and Es County would be greatly appreciated by the family.
