Ron’s Obituary
Ronald Bernard Ragan, aged 75, passed away peacefully on September 30th, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born on June 27th, 1948, in High Prairie, Alberta, to George and Clara (Beaudry) Ragan. He was the eleventh of fifteen children, growing up in a lively and spirited household that radiated with warmth and love. From an early age, Ron’s deep affection for life and his unwavering devotion to his family were unmistakable.
On October 4th, 1969, he married the love of his life, Edith Chemerinski. Their union was a source of boundless happiness, and together they welcomed three beautiful children into their lives: Laurie, Rhona, and Daniel. Ron’s love and pride for his family were immeasurable. He celebrated their achievements as if they were his own, and they remained his greatest source of joy and inspiration throughout his life.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Edith, and siblings: Bernice Brillon, Eunice Chomos, Donna Ragan, Ken Ragan, Ozane Gustafson, Brian Ragan, their spouses, and children. He also leaves behind his cherished children: Laurie Keay (James), Rhona Ragan (Joe), and Daniel Ragan (Caitlin), as well as his adoring grandchildren: Dawson Keay (Sara), Emma Beagles (Clay), Brandt Quartly, Rhenn Ragan, and Maesyn Ragan. Recently, he was overjoyed by the arrival of a great-grandson, Leo. Additionally, Ron leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins, further extending his loving legacy.
Family and friends are warmly invited to attend Ron’s memorial service, which will be held on Saturday, October 7th, 2023, at 1:00 PM at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in High Prairie, Alberta
