Obituary
Paul Darwin Townsend, 61, of Batavia passed away on September 27, 2023. He was born August 24, 1962 in Springfield, PA to Darwin Townsend of North Carolina and the late Marianne (Boyce) Townsend. In addition to his mother, Paul is predeceased by his mother and father in law; Tom and Betty (Pellegrino) Collins; nephew Brett Merica.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years; Joanne (Collins) Townsend; daughter Holly (Joshua) Napoli; son James (Jessica) Townsend; sisters Joy (Sammy) Choi and Anne Townsend; sister in law Barbara (Gerard) Merica; brother in law Frank ‘aka’ Jimi Jamm (Margot) Collins, along with several nieces and nephews that he loved very much.
Paul was a heavy duty parts salesman for many years for Boyles Motors in Batavia. In his younger years, Paul served his country in the Army National Guard. He loved to lift weights and work out. Paul was an avid bowler and volunteer coach, to the Saturday morning youth league, at Mancuso lanes. He taught both his children how to bowl and loved watching them progress through the years. Paul enjoyed golfing on leagues and going to the driving range. He also loved cars and working on them with his son.
There will be no prior calling hours and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
