It is with great love and sadness that the family of Florence “Dianne” Milburn (nee McIlmoyle) announce that she has passed away at the age of 79. On Wednesday, September 13, 2023, Wayne said good-bye to his teenaged sweetheart, best friend, and wife of 59 years.
Cherished Mother of Sheri (John McKeen), Jackie (Chris Heckel) and Michelle (Ian Lowes). Grammy will be missed tremendously by her grandsons, Ben (Logan), Brad (Grace), Charlie, and Carter. Dianne was the daughter of the late Jack and the late Florence McIlmoyle and sister to the late Bob, Eleanor (late Gary Hardill), Tom (Pat) and the late Rick (Jane).
She will also be missed by her brothers-in-laws Gerald (Marion), Art (Cindy), the late Joe, and late sister-in-law, Barb Milburn. Aunt DD will also be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Steve, Kerri, Jeff, Mike, Richard, Jennifer, Mark, Gord, Janet, Joe, Susan, Chris, Jennifer and Stephen, as well as, many McIlmoyle aunts, uncles and cousins.
Dianne was a colourful, vibrant women who loved her family and friends with her whole heart. Dianne was born in Peterborough on Nov. 30, 1943 where she lived until she was five and then moved to Bridgenorth where she lived the rest of her life. She enjoyed gardening, refinishing antiques, and decorating her home with her own artistic flair. She treasured time spent socializing with good friends and was always up for fun and dinner out. In her earlier years she loved playing squash, downhill skiing and beach vacations. She will be missed by many.
A visitation will be held at Ashburnham Funeral Home – 840 Armour Road, Peterborough on Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre would be greatly appreciated.
