Raymond Paul Comeau
1955-2023
The passing of Raymond Paul Comeau of Pennfield NB occurred
at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on September 13,
2023. Born at Blacks Harbour NB on May 23, 1955, he was a son of the
late Dennis A. and Noreen (Richard) Comeau.
A loving brother, uncle, great uncle and cousin, he is
survived by his brothers: Brian Comeau and Michael Comeau both of
Pennfield NB, John (Faith) Comeau of Sylvan Lake AB, Dale (Sherry)
Comeau of Bloomfield NB and Gordon (Michelle) Comeau of Fredericton
NB; his sisters: Faith Comeau of Blacks Harbour NB and Carolyn Comeau
and Susan Comeau both of Pennfield NB as well as several nieces,
nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by
his parents, Dennis and Noreen.
Prior to his illness, Raymond was a machinist by trade and a
member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Millwright and Allied
Workers. After attending Blacks Harbour High School and Eastern
Charlotte Regional School, where he excelled at basketball, Raymond
left school to write for his G.E.D and attend community college, where
he obtained his machinist course. He then went to work in the machine
shop at Connors Brothers. He later left Connors and became a member of
the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Millwright and Allied Workers
and went to work for Saint John Shipyard on the frigate program.
Following the shipyard, he worked at various jobs and shutdowns and
made many friends and acquaintances.
Raymond was an avid sports fan who enjoyed many sports,
especially golf. He could be found at home watching Sportsnet as well
as patrolling around the house with his faithful partner, Elly.
Raymond was also a Tim Hortons regular and was always a fixture at
Tims in town with the guys and his Tim’s buddy, Calvin
Hanley. Raymond was also a guy who gave the Atlantic Lottery
Corporation a run for their money, having won several big
prizes, including two in a month. He will be sadly missed by his
family and all who knew him.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (506-755-3533), 26
Portage Street, St. George NB with visiting on Monday from 6-8 pm.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Stella Maris
Catholic Church, Blacks Harbour NB on Tuesday at 11:00 am with Fr.
Rolando Suplido officiating followed by interment in the parish
cemetery. In Raymond’s memory, donations to a charity of the
donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the
family.
