It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rick Adair in St. Albert, Alberta on January 4, 2023 at the age of 69 years. Rick was predeceased by his parents Al and Joyce Adair. He is survived by his sister Cathy (Robert) Grose, brother Rob (Heather), his nieces Lauren Grose, Kristen Adair, and Cait Adair, and his sister Patty Styba (Cliff Ripley). Rick is also survived by his cousins Bernadette (Bob) Gordon and Jennifer (Darren) Lamothe as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins in the Johnson and Adair families.
Rick was an avid sports enthusiast, an animal lover, a voracious reader, a World War and Vietnam War buff, a car buff, and a collector of many things. During his career, Rick was a radio announcer in Fort McMurray, Edson, Peace River, and Medicine Hat and he enjoyed his time coaching minor baseball and high school basketball.
A Celebration of Rick’s Life will be held on May 27, 2023 at 2PM in the Emerald Room at Peace Valley Inns, Peace River (9609-101 Street, across from Smitty’s). If desired, donations may be made in Rick’s memory to a humane society, animal shelter, or a charity of one’s choice.
