Obituary
Passed away peacefully at Chapman House Hospice on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. Born in Woodstock, Ont., on November 14, 1939, Dennis Henry Stevens of Owen Sound was in his 84th year.
Beloved husband of Anny Stevens (nee Kamps) for 58 years. Loving father of Mark (Carrie) of Brampton, Joanne (John) of Alberta and Andrew (Natasha) of Toronto. Proud “Gramps» of Joelle (Lynden), Jake (Lana), Reese, Brenna and Jorja. Dear brother of Floyd (Charmaine) of B.C. Predeceased by his parents Alfred and Elsie Stevens and his sister Linda West.
Dennis was a kind and gentle soul who had a deep love of music and sang in the Georgian Bay Concert Choir, Shoreline Chorus, St. Andrew’s Church Choir and the Silvertones.
He was employed by the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario for 35 years. In his retirement, he enjoyed his hobbies of doing stained glass and working in the gardens of his beloved home. He also loved attending the weekly meetings of the Silver Cs. He appreciated the simple pleasures of everyday life and especially treasured the time spent with his family and friends whether it be basking in the sun at Sauble Beach, playing a rousing game of Euchre, or just stopping for a quick chat. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 865 Second Avenue West., Owen Sound, 519-376-7886 on Tuesday August 29th at 11:00 AM followed by a memorial service at noon officiated by Rev. Ed Hoekstra.
