It is with broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather (Papou), brother, Ilias “Louie”, at 93 years of age, on August 15, 2023, surrounded by his loving family, at home, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on December 11, 1929 in Chania, Crete, Greece. Loving and devoted husband of Kiriaki, cherished father of Mary Triantafyllos (Alex), Helen Emerick (Paul). Adoring grandfather of Sia Malone (Steve), Diana, Natalie and great-grandfather of Elliott and Luke Malone. Devoted brother of the late Manolis (the late Maria), Kosta (the late Argyro), Aristides (the late Paraskevi), the late Arhondoula (the late Niko). Predeceased by his parents, Mihail and Maria Vasilodimitrakis. Dear uncle of Maria, Efi (Jon), Georgina and the late Michael of Windsor, along with many nieces and nephews in Greece.
Louie came from humble roots and built a successful life for himself and his family in Canada. He was loving, hard-working, generous down to earth man who loved his family beyond measure as he was loved immensely in return. Louie was the proud owner of Louie Service Centre for 40 years, until his retirement, after which, he enjoyed taking care of his beautiful house and garden. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was blessed with the gift of many years.
