The family announces with great sorrow his death on Sunday August 13, 2023 at Health Sciences North in Sudbury at the age of 57 years.
Loving son of Marie-Anne Bernard (Tambeau), father to Jessica Rocheleau (Matt), grandfather to Mirabelle and Adrianne. Beloved brother to Dan Tambeau (Teresa), Liliane Tambeau (Gregg) and Chantal Tambeau. Loving uncle to Caroline (Allain), Jennifer (Sam), Jared (Mylee), Kayla (Adam), Melissa (Ian), Cassandra (Andy), Karine (Jessy), Becca (Max) and Katie (Calvin). Great-Uncle to Kyle, Landon, Nicholas, Blake, Zendaya and Theo
Rick was predeceased by his father, Robert Tambeau, his cousin, Denis Dubeau and his Mémére, Cecile & PéPére Delia Bernard and Mémére Yvonne and PéPére Charlie Tambeau.
Rick loved fishing, camping, kayaking, spending time with his family and volunteering. Rick devoted his time to mine rescue efforts and competition while working at Placer Dome Mines. He was also a board member and volunteer for Kinsman Club in Timmins. He was a great and passionate guitar player and enjoyed playing guitar by a campfire and serenading his mom, whom he loved dearly.
The family wishes to thank all the staff at Saint-Gabriel Villa and HSN for their compassion and excellent care provided to Rick. Heartfelt gratitude to Fran and Mel, to Tanya and Susan from Right at Home Canada and to Tracy from Maison Hospice for their ongoing dedication and care. A special thank you to Dr Bonares from the ALS Clinic (Sunnybrook Hospital) for his ongoing compassionate support through this difficult journey.
Family and friends are invited to visit with Rick’s family on Thursday August 17, 2023 from 7-9 p.m. at Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday August 18th, 2023 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services have been entrusted with LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations to the ALS Society of Canada will be greatly appreciated.
