Obituary
Veronica (Von) passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Health Centre on January 9, 2023, at the age of 81.
She was born on Bell Island to Michael and Susanna McGrath, Von was the third oldest of 16 children.
She was predeceased by her parents her brothers John and Vincent and her sister Betty.
She was the wife of Myles Somerton (deceased), dear mother of Theresa, loving nanny of Lindsay and Nicole and great grandmother of Valencia. She was loved in her many roles as a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a nanny, a great grandmother, a mother-in law, a sister-in law, an aunt, a great aunt, a cousin, God mother and a friend. She has touched many lives and will be missed by all those who loved her.
Von loved the sound of the ocean and the music of her roots. She never missed a chance to dance. Her favourite colour was purple in all things including nature itself.
Never was her smile brighter than when she was among family at their many get togethers.
May the sharing of stories of her help us to always feel her presence and may she live on in the memories of loved ones.
