May Katherine Smith
1952-2023
To my dearest loved ones, I arrived in heaven, an angel came
and took my hand, and led me on my way. I passed on July
27th, 2023 at the Moncton Hospital, surrounded by family, at
the young age of 71.
I am the daughter of the late Arthur and Audrey (Fullerton)
Merrill. I retired from CN, then did a bit of travelling,
did some gardening, bowled, and pretty much did whatever made me
happy! I got a dog, Mylee, who helped keep me on my
toes. I may have been small but I was mighty, some would
call me a little spitfire. I lived my life to the
fullest and was blessed with great family and friends. The
best advice I can give–«Live each day as if it’s your
last. It is time to say goodbye from heaven far above, I
love you all so dearly» …May.
I leave behind my twin brother, Rob (Bobby) Merrill (Delores)
of Victoria, BC, brother-in-law, Allan Jones of
Waterford,NB; nieces, Kelly (Eric), Emily (David) and Carey
(Scott); nephew, Robbie (Natasha), and great nephews, Jakob, Cohen,
Justin, Austyn, Avery, Greyson and Ryker; great nieces, Emma, Audrey,
Alice and Eleanor; Wayne’s children, Shannon (Alison), Danica (Allan)
and their children, Jackson, Henry, Rachel and Bradley. Also
all my aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and many
friends.
Besides my parents I was predeceased by my husband,
Wayne Smith and sister, June Jones.
During this journey, I could not have done it without the
support and great care from the fantastic Team in the Oncology Unit at
the Moncton Hospital. You all made me feel so special and it
meant a lot to me to be so well cared for. I made close
bonds with many who became like family. Thank You so Much-
Dr. J. Thomas McNally, Dr. Giberson, Dr. Kelly, Dr. Enright, Dr. Azim
and Dr. Harb; to my special angels- nurses, Andrée, Billie,
Katie P., Hillary, Emma, Corey, Parker, Vero, John, Jon, Eric,
Raelyne, Natalie, Carlie, Kate, Vanessa, Sarah, Jen, Laura, Taylor,
Tianna and the RT staff, Kyle, Kim, Sabrina, and Ryan; to the ward
clerks (Kim and Laura) and everyone that made my stay
comfortable. I really appreciated all that was done for me
and the kindness shown.
Honoring May’s own wishes there will be no
visitation. A Graveside Service will be held at the
Curryville Cemetery on Septemeber 9th, 2023 at 1:00pm where she will
be buried with her late husband Wayne.
For those who wish donations to the Friends of the Moncton
Hospital Oncology Unit would be greatly appreciated.
Arrangements are in the care of the Albert
County Funeral Home, 4130 Route 114, Hopewell Cape, NB,

A Whisper From
Heaven
To my dearest loved
ones,
I arrived in heaven
today.
An angel came and took my
hand,
And led me on my way.
She brought me here to
heaven,
To dwell with the Lord
above,
Where there is no more pain or
sorrow,
Only happiness, joy and
love.
I did not want to leave
you,
I did not want to go.
I love you all so
dearly,
More than you’ll ever
know.
I know your heart is
aching,
And your eyes are filled with
tears.
But God has been so good to
me,
In my life of these few
years.
I wish so much you
wouldn’t cry,
The way you did
today.
For no one born unto the
earth,
Was ever meant to
stay.
But don’t think of me as
gone away,
We’re never far
apart.
For every morning, noon and
night,
I’m right there in your
heart.
The best advise that I could
give?
Live each day as if your
last.
You can’t change what you
say or do.
Once they’re in the
past.
Your time on earth is
limited,
So be careful what you
do.
Remember hugs and
kisses,
Goodbyes and «I Love
Yous»
So now it’s time to say
goodbye,
From Heaven far
above.
But please always
remember,
You have my eternal
love.
And when it’s time for you
to go,
Please do not be
alarmed.
For I’ll be waiting
patiently,
Right here, with open
arms.
