Neil Baerg lived to the age of 77 in Abbotsford, B.C. and passed away peacefully on July 19, 2023, after a battle with cancer. Neil is survived by his wife, Susan Baerg (nee Wall) and 3 children, Lesley Peters, Sylvia (Andy) Harder and Monte (Marina) Baerg and 8 grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his granddaughter Riley Peters, his parents David and Anna Baerg and siblings, Henry (1), Henry (2), Cornelius, Mary, Dave, John, Anne and Peter.
Neil was born in 1946 to David and Anna Baerg in Taber, Alberta and the family moved to Chilliwack, B.C. in 1953. Neil grew up in Chilliwack where he met his wife at youth group. Neil went to Douglas College graduating with a certificate in business management and marketing after which he went to his first love which was driving. Neil had his own car carrier for 15 years seeing most of Canada and the northern United States. After the death of his granddaughter, he sold his car carrier and started driving a transit bus in Abbotsford which he continued for 22 years up until he passed away. He enjoyed fishing with friends, vacationing in Hawaii and watching the hummingbirds feed on his patio. Neil will be missed by his family but is celebrating in heaven.
A memorial for Neil will be held on August 5th at 1 o’clock at Sevenoaks Alliance Church.
