Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Donald McMillan Edgar on Saturday, July 22nd, at the age of 87 years.
Beloved husband of Mary Edgar (nee – Higgins) for 64 years. Loving father of Kelly David (Brian) and Michael Edgar (Carol). He will be a greatly missed Papa to Ashley McMann (Brad), Ryan David (Kelsie), Cory Edgar (Laura), Tyler Edgar (Anne-Marie) and Brady Edgar. Proud great Papa to Cole, Keira, Taylor and Bailey McMann, Nora and Jemma David, Chloe, Aiden, Arielle and Milo Edgar. Cherished brother-in-law of Lola Edgar, Ann and Jerry Ward and Carol Higgins. Predeceased by his parents Murdie and Winnifred Edgar (nee- McMillan), his brothers John Edgar, Bruce Edgar and Jim Edgar and his in-laws Jack Higgins, Bob Higgins, Marilyn, Alvie and Jean Higgins.
Don was a dedicated teacher for many years.
A Memorial service to celebrate Don’s life will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. Internment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, following reception at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Owen Sound Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society or Heart & Stroke foundation are appreciated. Online condolences can be sent to Don’s family by visiting his online memorial at www.woodfuneralhome.ca.
