It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Geraldine Kemshall (nee Clarke) on July 22, 2023 at the Timmins and District Hospital in her 87th year. Gerri was a ray of sunshine, always kind, helpful and positive. She will be dearly missed.
For many years, she operated the Textile Center and also was employed in the purchasing department of the Kirkland and District Hospital. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, and volunteered with the Kirkland and District Hospital Auxiliary. She was always happy to lend a hand, provide some baking or to brighten someone’s day.
Gerri was predeceased by her parents, Eric and Iolean (Cahill ) Clarke as well as by her beloved brothers Bob and Ronnie Clarke.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Richard Kemshall and by her loving daughter Kimberley Harvey (Norm).
She also leaves behind two dearly loved grandsons: Joshua Harvey (Mariana) and Jonathan Harvey (Sarah) and her great-grandchildren Madeline, Charlotte and Olivia, her sister-in-law Vivien Clarke, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition, she had many lifelong friendships which she cherished throughout her life.
In keeping with Gerri’s wishes, a private family celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Donations in memory of Gerri to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Blanche River Health Hospital (Kirkland Lake site) are appreciated.
