Passed away peacefully on June 11, 2023 at Innisfree House Hospice from complications with cancer.
Predeceased by her parents Jean Wachniuc and Janina Morga, and her brother Michael.
Helen was born in France in 1950 and moved to Montreal as a child. She studied commerce at Concordia University and worked for Royal Bank of Canada, before marrying Gordon Kenworthy in 1980 and becoming a mother to Alicia (1983) and Rob (1987).
Raising her children and running the household became her primary occupation, and one she took seriously. She was an excellent cook, host, and home decorator. She was also the mother to several dogs and cats, whom she loved dearly. After stints in Mississauga and Winnipeg, the family settled in Cambridge, Ontario in 1992.
Along with her family, she travelled frequently all over the world, spending a lot of time at the family’s condo in Clearwater Beach, Florida.
Survived by her husband Gordon Kenworthy, her children Alicia (son-in-law Brian Chick) and Rob Kenworthy (daughter-in-law Pippa Kenworthy), and her grandchildren Alexander and Isabella Kenworthy. Her cousin Elizabeth Morga, who Helen saw more as a sister, was with her as well in her final days.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Innisfree House. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Innisfree House in her honour. A celebration of life will be planned for friends and family later in the summer.
