In loving memory of a remarkable man: It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Julien Richard Lesperance. Born February 13, 1948. Passed away July 8, 2023. His life was a testament to resilience, love and optimism. We gather to honor his memory and celebrate the extraordinary person he was.
Julien was diagnosed with esophageal and liver cancer. He was surrounded by his loving daughter Julie (Steve) Swift and loving partner of 20 years, Annette St. John. He was predeceased by his parents Leonise and Edward. He will be missed by his siblings, Rebecca (late Lionel) Wilder, Sarah (late Gord) Duplessis, AnnaMae (late Francis) Corriveau, Cecile Lesperance, Janette Cecile, Claudette (Steve) Craig, late Edward (Donna) Lesperance, his sister-in-law Connie (Roy) Dame, as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews. Julien was predeceased by his late wife Maggi Leroux-Lesperance.
Julien was a loving father to Julie from beginning to end. He expressed that life was a gift and demonstrated positivity even through the darkest times. The two had a lifetime of looking after each other with all the tears and laughter guiding them along the way. He was a best friend to many. His unwavering support, guidance, and genuine presence made him a source of inspiration for everyone fortunate enough to have crossed his path. Julien’s love extended beyond his immediate family. He was an inspirational grandfather to Blaise Garbet (Jessica), Tyson Garbet (Sydney), and Taylor Swift (Joel). Julien imparted wisdom, love and his passion for life within all his grandchildren. As well, they cherished many moments together. In recent years, he became a proud great-grandfather to Sloane, Logan and Penelope. His memories will live on through the legacies.
His partner Annette was an integral part of his life. Together they shared laughter, adventures, and unwavering companionship.
Throughout his life, he found joy in the simple pleasures. He took pleasure in playing the piano, saxophone, and the harmonica. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, e-bike & many coffees with his friends Jim, Al, John, Randy, Reggie and Roy. A heartfelt thanks to them for their friendship and support. Julien has many fond memories with the St. John Family over the years.
Julien was the “Supreme Commander” of Lex Air Ltd. for 35 years. He managed Ponderosa Steakhouse and The Red Barn in Windsor back in the day. He flew his own airplane and earned the name “Wrong Way Julien” at the Windsor Airport.
With the assistance of M.A.I.D. Julien peacefully passed away holding hands with his devoted daughter Julie and his beloved Annette.
His legacy will forever resonate with our hearts. It will guide us through life’s challenges with grace, strength and an unwavering belief in the power of positivity.
Memorial Visitation at Families First, 1065 Lauzon Rd., East Windsor, 519-969-5841 on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 3 to 6 pm.
