Paul passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at home in London, Ontario on Friday, June 30, 2023. He was 96 years young, just a few months shy of his 97th birthday.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Bertha (Berte), parents, Doris and Robert P. Grandy of Halifax, Nova Scotia, and sister Marie.
Survived by his sister JoAnn from London, daughters Lindy (Lynn Gamble) of Coldstream, Meredith (Robert Hartzog) of Houston, Texas; sons Kevin (Ramona) of Niagara, Clay (Joan) of London, Colin (Holly) of London and Graeme of Grand Bend.
Paul will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Jenna, Jaime, Luke, Brady, Shannon, Kraig, Kyle, Tom, Rob, Matt, Heather, Nick, Amy and Sarah. He was greatly loved by his great grandchildren Ashlynn, Jaxon, Danica, Iya, Kayden, Kaley, Chase, Mason, Kendall, Taylor, and Jaxon as well as many nieces and nephews.
Paul earned his mechanical engineering degree in 1950 from Dalhousie University in Halifax. He began his professional journey at the Construction Equipment Company, where he steadily progressed through the ranks and eventually earned his way to Assistant District Manager. Notably, he served as the Mechanical Superintendent on the Port Cartier job, a significant contribution to Canada’s iron ore production. Driven by his entrepreneurial spirit, Paul went on to establish five successful companies, leaving a lasting impact on the industrial safety industry.
When time allowed in his busy schedule, Paul loved to play a round of golf. Additionally, he was a devoted member of St. Vincent De Paul, offering his time to help those in need. He was also an active participant in the Knights of Columbus, further demonstrating his commitment to serving his community. His faith was an integral part of his life, and he was a long-time parishioner of St. Michael’s Church, and he later became a member of Christ the King University Parish.
Paul’s legacy extends far beyond his successful career. While his professional achievements are noteworthy, it is his profound impact on his family and loved ones that truly defines his remarkable contributions to this world. He will forever be remembered for his wisdom, kindness, compassion, generosity, and his huge heart. He will be greatly missed.
Visitors will be received at Christ the King University Parish at Windermere on the Mount, 1486 Richmond Street North, London, on Tuesday, July 4th from 10am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 12pm. Reception to follow.
Cremation with private family interment at a later date.

Family would also like to express thanks to Dr. Hamilton and Natalie Wellmann RN, and all the dedicated staff of VON, and St. Elizabeth palliative care team.
In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations made to Society of Saint Vincent de Paul or Sisters of St Joseph in Canada.
