Elizabeth Rose Laczko was born in Wakaw, SK to Frank and Florence Badinski. They later moved to the Meskanaw area where Liz’s dad farmed. She went to school in Ben Loyal. Liz had four siblings: Helen, Frank, Mary and Ernest. After she finished school, Liz helped on the farm.
She met Bill at a Little Moose dance and they dated for a year and then married on October 18, 1949. They started farming at Katerbacks, just West of St. Brieux. Their first daughter Rosemarie was born in Humboldt. After the crop stayed out for two years, they move to Star Olson, Ontario, where Bill went to work in the gold mine. They then moved to Red Lake, Ontario where they stayed for 10 years and welcomed four more children to their family; Beverly, Joyce, Leon and Glen.
In 1961, they purchased a farm West of St. Brieux. During this time mom always had a big garden, milked cows, raised chickens and pigs and helped in the field. She loved to run the 1010 Case combine. Mom sewed our clothes and even sewed bridesmaid dresses.
In 1970, tragedy stuck when they lost Leon to a hunting accident. In 1992, they retired and built a new house in St. Brieux. Mom was involved in the St. Brieux Housing authority for 21 years. She volunteered at Chateau and the with the Lions. They went on many trips including Alaska and enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Waskesiu.
Bill passed away in 1995, and mom continued to live in their house and enjoyed many bus trips and casino trips with her friends. In 2017, mom decided to downsize and moved to Caskey Place in Melfort where she enjoyed playing Kaiser and bingo.
Health issues made her seek long term care at Chateau Providence in St. Brieux where she was only blessed to be able to spend a week. She was excited to be returning to her hometown.
Liz will be lovingly remembered and cherished by her children: Rosemarie (John) Perrot and their children: Anita Perrot (Jason Fradette) and step-daughter: Elizabeth (Jordan) Low-On and their daughters: Addison and Abigail; Greg (Anna Marie) Perrot and their children; Rocco, Talia and Cozi; Kimberly (Collin) Martin and their children: Shanese, Tanner and Colby; Beverly (John) Fau and grandchildren: Kaleb and Delany; Joyce Armstrong and her children; Sherri, Daniel and Michael and his son Hunter; Glen Laczko and his sons: Justin and Tyler (Erin) and their daughter Olivia. As well as numerous other family members.
Liz was predeceased by her husband Bill; son Leon; grandson Jonas Fau; son-in-law Brian Armstrong, her siblings and other family members.
