In loving memory of William (Bill) MacLeod.
Bill, a cherished member of our family passed away on June 12/ 2023. His departure has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. While our hearts are heavy with grief, we take solace in the memories of a remarkable man whose presence touched our lives.
Born on January 1 /1929 in Glengarry N.S. Bill brought joy and warmth into the world. Throughout his life he demonstrated resilience, compassion, and an unyielding spirit that inspired those around him.
Bill was employed by the CNR until his retirement. He enjoyed listening to Celtic and old-time county music. He also had a great interest in following the weather conditions of Pictou County and most conversations with him included this.
Bill is predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Elizabeth (Bessie) MacLeod also his siblings and their spouses Cecil Frame, Margaret (Dave) Wilson, Edith (Hughie) Russell, Wilson (Doris) Frame, Mary (Garth) Slater.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary MacLeod and his children Jim (Linda)MacLeod and Margaret (Chuck)Murphy, his grandchildren and their spouses Michael (Julie) MacLeod, Matthew (Carlie) MacLeod, Jeffery (Arius) MacLeod, Shea (Jennifer) Murphy, Stephanie (Sebastian) Murphy, Ashley (Jeremy) Murphy, eight great grandchildren and his nieces and nephews.
Dearly loved by his family, Bill possessed a remarkable ability to connect with others and his presence brightened any room he entered. He had a genuine interest in people and a way of making everyone feel seen and valued, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to have known him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and reliance that will be forever cherished. He will be deeply missed. Our lives are enriched by his presence and we will carry his memory in our hearts.
As we mourn the loss of Bill, we also celebrate the remarkable life he lived. May his memory serve as a guiding light, inspiring us to embrace life with kindness, integrity, and unwavering spirit. In honoring his memory, a family memorial service will be held to pay tribute to the remarkable person he was and the impact he had on our lives.
Although Bill is no longer with us in the physical realm, his legacy will endure, reminding us of the incredible person he was. May he find eternal peace and may his memory be a blessing to us all.
