It is with heavy hearts that the
family of Frank Lent Macdonald announce his passing on June 13, 2023,
in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital.
Born in Antigonish on June 14,
1948, he was the son of the late Douglas and Muriel (Lent) Macdonald
of St. Ninian Street.
He was predeceased by his older
brother Douglas and his brother-in-law Karl Aubrecht.
He is survived by his sister,
Catherine Aubrecht; nieces, Katie (Corey), Alexandra (Curtis), and
Christina (Jevin); and grandnephews, Ethan, Rowan, Abbott, and Aiden;
and grandnieces, Ava and Blair.
Frank graduated from Nova Scotia
College of Art and Design and was a design consultant in marketing and
communications. His talents led him to consulting on projects of
social and historical interest, such as «The History of
Antigonish» (Patrick Walsh, 1989) and editorial collaborations
with George Sanderson on research on Marshall McLuhan’s
works and legacy. Frank was a philosopher and an avid reader who loved
to cook and dance. He found joy in long walks and deep conversations.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Pereira in the ICU, the staff at the
R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home for their kind and compassionate care, and
a special volunteer, Connor MacDonald.
Visitation will be held Sunday,
June 25th from 2 to 4pm in C.L. Curry Funeral
Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish. Funeral Mass will be
held Monday, June 26th at 11:00am in St. Ninian
Cathedral, Antigonish. The funeral will be streamed live on
the funeral home website.
Burial in the parish
cemetery.
