Obituary
NICKERSON, Erna Marjorie – age 80, passed away peacefully at Roseway Hospital in Shelburne on June 7, 2023. Born July 31, 1942 in Yarmouth Nova Scotia, she was a daughter to the late Ida (Saulnier) and James Muise.
She was a loving mother, who loved to play Bingo around the community and in her later years, she looked forward to Monday night TV Bingo. In her younger years, she dedicated a lot of her time in Bella Coola volunteering at various events such as Girl Guides, Horse club, and anything else she could help out with. When she moved to Shelburne in 1993, she proudly called this home.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Nickerson (Robin Robart), sons; Murray Nickerson (Kathy Shand), Gerald (Tom) Nickerson, Daniel Vantrease, John Vantrease and Gordon Nickerson, sisters; Carol Bower and Lydia Dixon, brothers; John Muise and Gary Muise, and Rene Doucette, as well as many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Aside from her parents, she is predeceased by the love of her life Sonny (Gordon) Nickerson, and son Scott Nickerson.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. We the family would like to thank the EHS team, Roseway Hospital staff, and Dr. Alenabi, as well as her housekeeper Carolyn Harlow who always went above and beyond to assist her at home.
