Passed away peacefully at home on May 21, 2023 at the age of 90 with family by her side.
Beloved wife of Ioan Stanescu, with whom she enjoyed 68 years of marriage. Cherished mother of Marcel (Eugenia) Stanescu and Mariana (Daniil) Popa. Proud grandma of Daria (Serban) Dumitrescu, Vlad (Adina) Popa, Mihai (Rebecca) Stanescu and Teodora (Erik) Lovegrove. Great-grandmother of Zoe, Gunnar, Gruia and Braya. Dear sister of Sonia Wille. She will also be missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family in Romania and around the world.
Ecaterina was a strong, kind and compassionate woman. She was the force that bound our family together. Ecaterina was a member of the Romanian Baptist Church of Windsor for many years.
Special thanks to Dr. Zoia Sherman and Dr. Stephen Rukavina from Hospice for their kindness and compassionate care.
A private family service will take place at a later date with burial to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens.
