Obituary
Edith peacefully passed away surrounded by her family at Southbridge Long Term Care on May 7, 2023. Born on November 4, 1936 in Derby Township, Ontario. Edith Dorothy Ball (nee McNabb) was in her 87th year.
Loving mother of Marilyn Kunkel, Bonnie (Bob) Jones, Bobby (Kim) Ball, Pat Fleck, Brian Ball (Helen), Carol (Dave) Aarup, Marianne Ball, Glen Ball and stepmother of Robert Woods.
Cherished grandma of 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Edith will be missed by her three sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by her parents Robert and Margaret McNabb, her former husband, George Ball, her partner, Hugh Woods, her grandsons Mark Aarup and Connor O’Neill, her son-in-law Frank Kunkel and her siblings, Russ McNabb, Harold McNabb, Mary Deakins and Margaret Galbraith.
Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Monday, May 15, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service to celebrate Edith’s life will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday May 16, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Mark Steinnacher officiating. For those unable to attend in person, a recorded version will be posted online. Interment will take place in Hillcrest Cemetery, Tara followed by a reception at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #383, 86 River Street, Tara.
