Pamela Ann «Pam» Benoit – 60,
Truro, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Colchester
East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter
of Charles Matthews, Leduc, Alberta, and the late Sheila (Webb)
Matthews.
Pam had an infectious personality and that shone through with
her work at Charm Diamond Centres and Jacob and Laser where she
excelled as a customer service representative, winning many sales
awards over the years. She attended Success Business College and
graduated in 2007 in the top ten in her class with a pharmacy
technician certificate. She then worked as a Pharmacy Technician at
Fraser’s Pharmacy in Bible Hill for a few years. She was
very athletic in her life and participated in ladies commercial
softball leagues and field hockey. She had a great sense of humour and
many will miss the funny stories and jokes that she would
share.
Along with her father, Charles Matthews and his wife,
Charlene, Pam is survived by her son, with whom she shared a very
special bond, Joshua Benoit, Truro; siblings, Andy (Cheryl) Matthews,
Upper Onslow; Holly Matthews, Red Earth, Alberta; Stephen (Catherine)
Matthews, Plymouth, Pictou County; Laura (Lee) Johnson, North River;
Richard Matthews, Edmonton, Alberta; several nieces and nephews. Along
with her mother, she was predeceased by her sister, Jill Marie
Matthews in infancy.
Honouring Pam’s wishes, there will be no visitation
or funeral service. If so desired, donations in Pam’s memory
to Colchester SPCA are welcomed.
