Hilary passed away
peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2023 in Debert Court, Debert. Born
in England at the height of World War II to Geoffrey and Dorothy
Masters, she immigrated to Canada in 1967 where she met and married
her lifelong partner, Malcolm. Together they raised 4 children, and
she went on to run her own business boarding and breeding Labrador
Retrievers in Tatamagouche. Never a meal was eaten there without a
furry contribution from one of the many four-legged children at
foot.
She was predeceased by
her husband in 2021 and went to live at Debert Court where she
received exceptional care and compassion from everyone there. Left to
mourn her passing are her children, Malcolm Jr. (Pam), Riverview, NB,
Bonnie, Dartmouth, Wess (Linda), Tatamagouche and Beth, Tatamagouche;
grandchildren, Samantha, Greg, Jessica, Justin, Maggie-Mae, Julia and
Allie; brothers, John (Wendy), Alan (Wendy); sisters, Gillian and
Linda; sisters-in-law, Connie and Sylvia; and many, many cousins,
nieces and nephews spread around the globe.
Besides her parents,
she was predeceased by brothers, Rodney, Geoffrey and his wife Ann,
Dennis, Ron and twin brother, Keith.
Throughout everything
life had in store for her, she made the most of it and left us better
for it.
Cremation has taken
place and a private family interment will take place at Sunnybrae
Cemetery in Tatamagouche at a later date. If so desired, donations can
be made to Sunnybrae Cemetery via their contribution site mycharityfund.ca/charity/63821/sunny-brae-cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner
Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Private messages of condolence
