JONES, Yvonne Beverley (nee Marriott)
Peacefully during her sleep in her 84th year our loving wife, mother, stepmother, sister, grandmother, and aunt, with caring friends too many to list. Has been reunited with her parents, brother, and stepson in heaven. The world has lost a beacon but heaven gains a new angel.
Yvonne leaves husband, Philip Michael of Burlington, daughter Michele Lamb (Brent) of Rodney, son John Charles Toth (Christine) of Hamilton, loved stepsons Michael Phillip Jones (deceased 2015) and Matthew Patrick Jones (Marianna) of Grimsby, brother Ken Marriott (deceased) (Betty, deceased), sister Marcelle Cikatricis (Tony) of Mount Hope, granddaughters Karly Toth, Katey Toth, Hayley Lamb, Preslea Lamb. Nieces Nicole Bowdidge (Bill) of Dundas, and London’s Marriott girls, Charmaine, Debbie, Tracey, Cheryl, Leslie and Kelly (deceased 2022).
Yvonne was born on September 18, 1938 in Hamilton to loving parents, Charles Clarence Marriott and Pearl Irma Marriott (Royea). Married John Ernest Toth and delivered life to Michele and John Charles. Was a very proud nurse (to the end still checking procedures), secretary nurse, office manager for a cardiologist, opened her business fantasy sun, taught nursing courses and became entrance administrator for a business college.
Yvonne retired in 2004 and enjoyed many winters at the St. Pete Beach Yacht and Tennis Club. She was diagnosed with Parkinson in 2006. Her Specialists best estimate was 6 to 10 years. But as usual, her determination and strength got her 16 years. Then in 2015 rapid development of Alzheimer was determined- not once did Yvonne ever complain about her health issues.
Only in a very short period did she really lose her strength and eyesight and her strength to resist but even just hours before her passing she was able to squeeze the hands of Philip and Marcelle.
The family wishes to acknowledge and express their gratitude to everyone who cared for Yvonne during the last 5 1/2 years at Chartwell Brant Centre Rambo Creek. The love and care given by all of Rambo was truly special. Special thanks to some- Anika, Rosemary, Red, Suzanne, Anna, Nicole- each had a special bond with Yvonne. Everyone else including every PSW, housekeeping, and kitchen staff, made her feel secure and comfortable.
Special thanks to Dr. Tanujaa Harricharan for her special professional care given to Yvonne. Your evaluations were always right on and your communication skills were comforting and much appreciated. God Bless.
