Obituary
William (Bill) George Gould died on July 1, 2022, in Grande Cache, Alberta. After being sick for some time, he passed away in the Grande Cache Hospital with his youngest daughter Cari by his side.
Bill was born August 20, 1941, in High Prairie, Alberta. He married Marie Therese Lise Lagace in February of 1965. They created roots in Grande Cache, Alberta in 1969, where they have lived ever since. Bill worked for McIntyre Mines as a Plumber/Pipe Fitter until he retired.
Bill was known for being a wealth of knowledge and came from a generation of figuring things out and making things better – he never stopped learning. One of his greatest hobbies for many years was woodworking, and his family and friends will always appreciate the wooden toys and birdhouses he created for them. Bill was also a lover of nature. He loved sharing photos of local birds and mammals, as well as learning everything he could about the world around him.
Bill is predeceased by his parents, George and Lillian, and his infant daughter Christine. Bill is survived by his wife Lise of nearly 60 years of marriage; four children – Michelle, Ken, Cari, Mark; and 12 grandchildren; as well as his sister Grace. Bill had many close cousins and friends throughout his local community and across western Canada. We’ll all miss his greeting “Howdy” and he’ll always be on our minds when we are wondering what type of bird we are looking at. We will celebrate him as a man of growth and learning.
