William (Billy) Pennell
August 7, 1952 – May 19, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our brother William (Billy) Gerard Pennell on May 19th, 2022, age 69, formerly of Trepassey.
Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Annie Pennell, twin brothers Desmond & David, sister-in- law Lorraine Pennell, special aunt, Norah Molloy, cousin Mary (Dermot Finlay) and other members of the Pennell and Kennedy families.
Leaving to mourn his siblings Sheila (Clarence) Waddleton, Ed (Erin), Terry, Mary (Dave) Abelseth, Anne Marie (Peter) Coffey, and Paul. Also leaving to mourn with fond memories 17 nieces and nephews, 13 great nieces and nephews, and many cousins and friends especially Virginia Pennell, Mary Smith and all his co-workers at Sobeys. We would also like to acknowledge his Riverhead Tower community, especially Judy, Joan and Fred.
We would like to extend a thank you to the staff of St. Clare’s Hospital Emergency Department who stayed with him, cared for him, and comforted him.
Visitation will be at Caul’s Funeral Home, 84 Lemarchant Road St. John’s, on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm, and in Trepassey on Wednesday May 25th, from 11:00-1:00 pm. The funeral will take place at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Holy Redeemer Church in his hometown of Trepassey.
No flowers by request. Billy’s life was one of kindness and hard work. He donated to as many causes as possible. To honour him, donations can be made to Ukraine via the Red Cross or to a charity of your choice.
