William «Bill» John Forbes

Forbes – “Bill” William John of Espanola passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Health Sciences North on August 18, 2022 at the age of 97. Dear son of the late Alexander & Edna (nee Bell) Forbes. Beloved husband of the late Phyllis (nee Hopkins). Loving father of Carolyn Mulack (Rudy) of Espanola, Nancy Hopes (late Ken) of Tucson, Arizona and the late Sue Bundus. Cherished by grandchildren Scott Sadowski, Chantel (Sissy) John, late Jasen Hopes and 8 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Virginia Malott and half siblings David, Marshall, Peggy & Betty Ann. Sadly missed by Adam & Julie Nelson, Stewart Nelson, Kim, Robert and Arthur. Also, will be sadly missed by many friends & relatives. Bill & Phyllis owned and operated Forbes Resort in White Fish Falls for many years. During the first year of operation, cottages were built to accommodate the cast and crew of the TV show Rainbow Country. The tourist guests became special friends with visits year after year. What were very special were the home town friends who very often gathered for parties and fishing. Bill looked forward to his buddies and the annual New Year fishing trip (ice permitting). He had a good life in his 97 years. The family would like to thank sincerely all the help they received from the paramedics, Doctors, Nurses and friends.
