Virginia’s Obituary
THÉRIAULT, Virginia T. – Age 76, of Meteghan, passed away at the Villa Acadienne on Thursday, November 10, 2022 with family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Pothier) and Désiré à Josie Deveau.
Virg loved walking in the forest after a big, fluffy snowfall, and sitting in the sand eating dulse (p’tit goémon) at her beloved beach in Meteghan with her family and friends. Decorating her home for Christmas brought so much joy to her and to those around her – and it’s a good thing she had a very large storage space! Her creativity showed in the many crafts she created throughout the years. Her adventurous streak came to life when she would ride the crazy roller coasters during our memorable trips to Florida. Her kindness was plated on the many delicious meals she cooked for her family. A good joke would bring out the twinkle in her eyes. (Her sister Carmel made that happen many times.) She was a kind mother. Notre mame, toujours.
She is survived by her daughters, Adrienne and Gisèle (Darryl); brothers, Raymond (Tamar), Melvin (Arlene), Nil (Jackie); sisters, Louise (Roland), Carmel (Junior); many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Robert; sisters Shirley, Lorraine; brother Donald “Don”; and son, Robert – all of whom she adored.
She will be forever missed, and forever loved.
A ceremony celebrating Virginia’s life will occur at a later date. Donations can be made to the Jacky Comeau & Friends Cancer Help Fund Association or to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
The family would like to deeply thank the staff at the Villa Acadienne who took such good care of her.
