Reunited with father Samuel Sousa, mother Florence Sousa niece Laura Turner (Doug) , and husband Ross W. Frederick on November 18 – 2022 , the day of her wedding anniversary to Ross.
Born in Buffalo Ny (March 11 – 1943) Ginny met Ross as a young lady in her early twenties while camping at Long Point Ontario; they married and raised two children together in Fort Erie where she enjoyed a vibrant family and community life. Never one to sit at home bored, most unforgettable will be Virginia’s outgoing personality, the dedicated care she gave to friends and family less fortunate or physically challenged, along with her enthusiastic drive to enjoy life especially when going out with “the girls” from her residence in Port Colborne for fun meals along the lake and canal – Lorna, Brenda, and Brenda B.
Ginny also delighted in visiting her children internationally and they in turn adored their mother’s enduring love and tangible support. -Ginny was a great mother and exceptional friend.
Virginia is survived by children Samantha (Eric) , Jason (Nicha) , sister-in-law Sylvia Beard , several caring nieces and nephews -and- granddaughter Jedda Frederick.
For their gracious and ameliorative care given to Virginia during her short but noble struggle, the family most gratefully thanks Dr Kim Scher and the honorable nurses at Douglass Memorial Hospital. Daughter Samantha is particularly appreciative for all of good friend Brenda Ballantyne’s love and support for her mom.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place with arrangements entrusted to ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne.
A celebration of Virginia Frederick’s life will be announced at a later date and will take place this Spring where she will be laid to rest next to husband Ross at beautiful Morgan’s Point cemetery in Wainfleet followed by a memorial dinner at The Belmont.
