Passed peacefully at the age of 95. She will be welcomed by husband Murray who passed 15 years ago, all her siblings Laura, Mona, Allan and Orma, as well as brother-in-law Clinton Shaver (Dorothy).
Vera is survived by son Larry (Francine), daughter Gail Waddell (the late Gary Rankin), and son Mark (Dianne).
Also cherishing memories are her grandchildren Todd Waddell (Simone), Nicki Jacobs (Brian), Tara White (Karl), Tavis Shaver and Lance Shaver, Kari Astles (Paul), and Morgan Shaver (Kristie).
Vera took great joy in her great-grandchildren, all 9 of them: Kaelen White, Paige, Sydney and Hannah Waddell, Abby and Kohen Jacobs, Kylen Astles, and Nova and Luna Shaver. Vera is also survived by sisters-in-law Joyce Roung (Harry), and Barb Dagg (Ronnie). Vera touched so many lives as a wife, sister, aunt, grandma, friend and Mom.
She welcomed one and all to her home and we were all treated to the best cooking and preserves in the fall. Vera was all about caring and sharing her love freely. So many memories of a life well lived.
Thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas, who have provided a home for our mother for the past 6 years.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a family gathering in the spring to place her ashes with Murray in Westover. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph’s Villa, Dundas ON would be appreciated by the family.
A Celebration of Life will beheld on Monday, September 19, 2022 from 3 pm – 6 pm at Circle of Life Cremation and Burial Centre, 100 King Street East, Dunads, ON (additional parking at the Air Force Club).
